Abstract:
Our team at Google works on an open cloud robotics platform for
collaborative robots. This involves infrastructure to securely connect
robots to the cloud, as well as reusable software modules that run on
the robot and in the cloud. Our plan is to work with our partners to
grow this platform into an ecosystem, using an app store for software
distribution. In our talk, we will introduce this project and present
Cartographer, a 2D/3D laser-based SLAM system, and an approach to 3D
scene understanding.
