Antonio Frisoli is a Full Professor in Robotics at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa- Italy where he holds the roles of Head of the Human Robot Interaction (HRI) area and acts also as the President of the Italian National competence center on Robotics Artes 4.0. His research interests are in the area of wearable haptics, haptic devices and exoskeleton design, telerobotics and telemedicine, advanced human-machine and human-robot interaction, rehabilitation robotics, collaborative and inspection robotics. Antonio Frisoli is a senior member of IEEE (the Institute of Electric and Electronics Engineers), and he is currently Associate Editor for Frontiers in Computer Science – Human-Media Interaction and Frontiers in Robotics and AI-Human-Robot Interaction. |
In this talk, Antonio Frisoli will discuss the challenges of
telerobotics with haptic feedback for remote operation of robotic
avatars in industrial and social settings. He will explore issues in
dexterous remote manipulation, the use of wearable haptics, and
bilateral exoskeletons to enhance tactile perception. The talk will
also cover advances in time domain passivity for improving system
transparency and reducing drift, and moreover will highlight key
projects, including participation in the ANA Avatar Xprize semifinals
and the Centauro project for disaster intervention.
