Fumihiro Kato is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Human Robot Co-creation, in the Future Robotics Organization, Waseda University, Japan. He received his PhD from Tokyo Institute of Technology, in 2016. His research interests are focused on the development of telexistence systems, haptic interactions, intelligent informatics, cognitive sciences, and interaction based on virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. He is a scientific secretary of IMEKO TC-17. He studied the novel telexistence surrogate robot system TELESAR VI, always having in mind human perception. |
The presentation begins from the telexistence concept and theory. Telexistence avatar robot system TELESAR VI will be explained. The presentation will also look at recent telexistence social applications, and discuss the requirements for telemedicine.
